Mia fell in love
with photography at the age of 17, while on safari in Kenya, East Africa. She found the wildlife and landscape
breathtaking, and set out with her camera to capture these images. Mia has returned to Africa more than a
dozen times, venturing further into the bush and remote villages of Kenya,
Rwanda and Tanzania.
Mia’s images
possess a certain soulfulness and intimacy. Through her composition and lighting, she aims to reveal the
character and spirit of each subject, be it animal or landscape.
Mia was born in
Boston, Massachusetts, and currently lives in Newport, Rhode Island. She graduated cum laude from Salve
Regina University with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies.
